About Volunteer Day:
Slush wants volunteers to feel included in the community and in entrepreneurship in general. That's why every year one month before Main Slush event we organize Volunteer Day, which is a full-day event for Slush's ~1,100 volunteers. The goal is to onboard them into the Slush world, train them, and build community, so they arrive at the event days already connected, informed, and excited!

Creative Process: For both the 2025 and 2026 motion pieces I used a mix of filming and motion graphics.

For the 2025 video I worked with our Slush Video Producer - Mikhail Cherkashin. His job was pretty simple: set up the camera and... start dancing!

I put on some music and we spent about an hour dancing, experimenting, and just vibing in front of the camera. After this vibe-session I took all the materials and started turning it into the final motion piece.

For the 2026 video I worked again with Mikhail, this time together with the Slush 2026 team. I gathered around 8 people and we headed to Kamppi.

The idea was to pick out one silhouette from a moving crowd. To get the shot, I had everyone walking back and forth for about 15 minutes until we captured the movement I had in mind.

The second part of the motion was created using Blender. And from there it was After Effects for putting everything together.
